About the Practice Test for the Arizona Notary Exam
Starting July 1, 2025, all new and renewing Arizona notary applicants are required to pass a state notary exam as part of the application process. The state exam is a 40-question, 60-minute multiple-choice exam and is based entirely on the 2025 Arizona Notary Public Reference Manual. The notary exam is administered by Prometric and can be taken online or at an approved testing center. Applicants must achieve a minimum score of 80% to pass. Passing exam scores are valid for 90 days. If you do not pass, you must wait 30 days before retaking the exam. After three failed attempts, a one-year waiting period is required before you can retake it again. The state exam fee is $46.75, payable to Prometric.
